Hi!
The Chicago Apple User Group has an excellent opportunity at our June 6th meeting. We'll be watching part of the DVD made by Bert Monroy as he describes how he created his latest digital creation,
Time Square. Even better, one person will walk away the winner of the DVD,
The Making of Times Square. We greatly thank Bert Monroy for making this DVD available to the group!
Bert describes himself and his work as follows:
"I consider myself a Hyper-realist artist. I love to paint. I use the word paint for lack of a better word. My medium is actually light. I have a passion for making things happen on the screen. Finding a new way of doing something and finding a new room in my imagination is what I love about the work."

Times Square is the largest image he's ever created. It is 60 inches (5 feet) high and 300 inches (25 feet) wide when printed. You can learn about Bert and this digital masterpiece here:
http://www.lynda.com/home/Player.aspx?lpk4=65699&playChapter=FalseAs he says, he creates a lot more detail than he needs, and it's a treasure trove of how he used tools. The best part is he'll encourage you to use tools in ways you've never imagined before, to make your own digital masterpiece! Someone's going to win the DVD, but you have to be there to win!

Hi everyone,
We had a last minute change of plans. Ted Landau is not able to present this month, and wants to schedule a time in the future to present to us, and we are working on setting that up. Our featured speaker on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 will be Anthony K., who is one of our most knowledgeable members. Many of you will recognize him as one of the people who is able to provide answers and solutions to most any question we have during our Q&A sessions. This is an opportunity to learn in-depth about several aspects of our common technology. The logistics of the event:
